MHS Cheerleader, Austin Howard, has been selected as 2024-2025 All-State Cheer by the Arkansas Activities Association! Austin is a dedicated teammate who puts in a great amount of effort for the team as well as toward his personal growth in the sport of cheer and tumbling! He is a great representative of our cheer program and our school! Way to go, Austin!

The 7th grade games against Greenland that are scheduled for Wednesday, January 8 are being moved to Monday, January 27. The 7th grade games will be played first followed by the 8th grade games that are already scheduled for that day. The games will begin at 4:00 PM.

The little league players of the week are Kylie Blair, Jennings Backus, and Karson Neumann. Kylie and Jennings worked so well together on defense and never let up. Karson had a double-double and showed out! Keep up the good work!

MOUNTAINBURG -- Ryan Allen scored 20 points to help Mountainburg beat Cedarville 58-48 at the Bob Denniston Classic on Saturday evening.
The Dragons (7-9) play Wonderview on Monday night in the finals.
The Dragons' Mitchell Moxley added 15 points and Ethan Becker and Levi Pense added 11 and eight points, respectively. Becker had seven fourth-quarter points to help Mountainburg withstand a late push.
Hunter McCutcheon and Brady Hightower led the Pirates (4-10) with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
GIRLS
MOUNTAINBURG 47, CEDARVILLE 44
Camdalynn McCaslin hit a back-breaking 3-pointer that helped clinch Mountainburg's hard-fought 47-44 win over Cedarville on Saturday at the Bob Denniston Classic.
Elliot Owen led the Lady Dragons (12-3) with a game-high 17 points. Kaitlyn Beauford added 13 for the winners.
Cedarville freshman Emily McCutcheon had 13 to pace the Lady Pirates (9-6).
Mountainburg trailed 26-20 early in the second half before going on an 11-2 burst to grab a 31-28 lead.
Sophomore Hadleigh Love had 10 points for the Lady Pirates. Freshman Sarah McCutcheon added nine.

The 2024 Bob Denniston Classic was a huge success. We are blessed to be able to host the Classic here at Mountainburg High School in memory of Coach Bob Denniston. An event like this can not happen without the assistance of many individuals and organizations within our community. Coach D was a very humble man. He would be honored to know that his name was on this Classic. We were blessed to have him here at MHS for many years. He was a true , Blue Mountainburg Dragon!
