Mountainburg Schools will be open tomorrow, Monday, January 13. There will be modified bus routes. Dr. Atwell will provide that information after all routes have been checked.
The Dragons and Lady Dragons basketball teams have a busy week ahead of them. The Jr High teams will be playing in the Opal Pistole Tournament in County Line. The brackets are provided below. The tournament will be January 18, 22, and 25.

Due to the threat of inclement weather, the basketball games scheduled for Friday, January 10 have been postponed. The games will be rescheduled for Thursday, January 16. It will be a 4-game night beginning with junior girls at 4:00.
The 2025 Dragon Homecoming will now be held on Friday, January 24. Basketball games will begin at 5:00 that night. More details will be provided later regarding homecoming.
With the forecasted winter storm to arrive in our area sometime tomorrow, Mountainburg Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 9.
Conditions will be monitored and evaluated regarding school on Friday.

National Career Coach Day is celebrated annually on January 8th. It's a day to recognize the important role career coaches play in helping people grow professionally and to raise awareness of the benefits of career coaching.
Career coaches can help people at any stage of their career. They can provide guidance and support for people who are struggling with self-confidence, assertiveness, productivity, or reaching their goals.
Here at MHS, we are blessed the BEST, Mrs. Hannah Hays, as our career coach. She is always read and willing to help students with college research, scholarships, projects, job shadowing... you name it, she is here to help out students be the best that they can be.
January is National School Board Appreciation Month. Choosing to run for a seat on the board is a volunteer decision. Members attend training and conferences to stay current and to bring new information to the district.

MHS Cheerleader, Austin Howard, has been selected as 2024-2025 All-State Cheer by the Arkansas Activities Association! Austin is a dedicated teammate who puts in a great amount of effort for the team as well as toward his personal growth in the sport of cheer and tumbling! He is a great representative of our cheer program and our school! Way to go, Austin!
