Reminder: The M.E.S. Book Fair opens this Friday! The students received their Book Fair Flyers this past Friday and they are so excited! I attached important information on the front of the flyers for parents and families, and I included some of it here as well. This details the available shopping times. As always, thank you all for your support of our Book Fairs! See you soon!

While at the Book Fair students and families have an opportunity to participate in the “All For Books” program. The All For Books program at our Scholastic Book Fairs is a great way to raise some funds to purchase books for our school and help provide books for all. I always create a special “sucker-pull” for the students. Students may donate 50 cents to the collection box, and for this Fall Fair they will choose a “Superhero Sucker” and win things like suckers, books, grab bags, treats, and posters. The kids love doing this! In addition to this, I will have small donation boxes set out representing each classroom. If anyone would like the opportunity to make a donation to a classroom to be able to buy more classroom library books, please do so! I am even going to add additional books to the class that receives the most donations! The teachers greatly appreciate the help! All of these contributions will be used to buy books at our Fair to build and refresh our school and classroom libraries. Scholastic Book Fairs then matches those monetary donations with a donation of up to $1 million in books from The Scholastic Possible Fund, and distributes books to children through organizations such as the Kids In Need Foundation. In the past we have also used this money to also help support other schools in need of assistance in getting books to students in need. We have helped schools that have suffered tornado damage, and we have also been the recipients of this help for the very same reason! So many books were sent to us from communities all around us!!! So, as you have read, your support supports us all! Not only are we cultivating a love of reading and a love of helping others, we are reinforcing that literacy is a priority for schools, families, and communities. By working together, we can help connect kids with more books than ever before. Thank you! Mrs. Voeller, LMS
