MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Below is a link to a document with the 2024-2025 picture dates that are set with Heritage Portraits and Kassy Pense Sample. Every effort is made to stick to this schedule throughout the year. We are trying something new this year. Sports pictures are scheduled throughout the year on three different Saturday's. This is to help eliminate disruptions during the school day and to avoid interrupting athletic periods in which teams practice. These are highlighted in yellow. There will be set times scheduled for teams to report for their pictures. It is important that ALL team members and coaches be present for these photos in order to be included in the team picture. This information was sent to parent/guardian emails of students entering grades K - 12th. Dates will be set for little league soon and will be posted. STEM CAMP Day 1: Challenge #2: In their second challenge today, students tried building a tall and strong spaghetti marshmallow tower. This challenged the students to work together as a team, plan their design process, and test it. The goals of this challenge is for students to develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking and to demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges or frustrations.

STEM CAMP Day 1: Challenge #1 - In this activity, students use the only resource they can find on a deserted island - a plastic bag, to make a strong rope! Students explore how twining strips of plastic can join together to form a strong rope and test to see whose rope is the strongest.

PARENTS and MHS STUDENTS... Don't forget these opportunities to get a jumpstart on community service learning hours. 1. Keep a notebook just for CSL. 2. When you do a volunteer activity, include the date, name of activity, hours worked, and have an organizer sign the sheet. 3. Organizers will be keeping sign in sheets also. This is done on the "honor system." We trust our students to be honest about this. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Cristee.

Dragons participating in ACT Camp learned more about ACT including scholarships/opportunities for students, test taking tips, tools and resources, and understanding scale scores. Students and teachers took a sample ACT Test (English) and went through questions and answers, and then took a Campus Tour to different buildings, and the Library! We love our partnership with the UA College Access Initiative 💙

ATTENTION INCOMING 7TH - 12TH GRADE DRAGON ATHLETES: It is time to start thinking about physicals and your child's DragonFly for next season. Students who plan on participating in grades 7th - 12th athletics for the 2024-2025 school year will need an updated physical before he/she can participate. Physicals are good for one year from the date you receive it. For example, if your child's physical was in August 2023, his/her physical is good until August 2024. You can get a physical for your child a couple ways: 1. Receive a physical from your child's pediatrician. If you choose to go this route, please print both the following forms, parents fill out the Health History Form and take the Physical Form to . These are the physical papers the AAA would like for us to use. 2. The Mountainburg Family Clinic has agreed to do a physical for $25. This is very cheap compared to most. It may even be more economical than some co-pays to pay the $25. The physical form from the clinic will work. New athletes or incoming 7th grade athletes, you will need to create a DragonFly account and complete the required items. Please see the Parent Module video for help with creating and completing a DragonFly account. Video: https://www.dragonflymax.com/parents-module-2-submit-forms-web Existing 8th - 12th athletes, you will need a physical and an update to your DragonFly account. Everyone has to sign off on the Sports Medicine and AAA Participation Agreement every year on DragonFly. Documents mentioned can be found in this folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11YEc64wzo9tdKAH8Msdypo41D0qvlaSp?usp=sharing We are looking forward to the 2024-2025 athletic seasons. Go Dragons!
